The upcoming event will take place over three stages between Zarautz, Abadiño, Amorebieta-Etxano and San Sebastian
The organisers of Itzulia Women have unveiled the route for the 2026 event at a press conference in Zarautz. The event was attended by the town’s mayor, Xabier Txurruka, and Javier Riaño.
The race will get underway with a stage that will start and finish in Zarautz. The route will cover a distance of 121.2 kilometres, with a total elevation gain of 2,239 metres, and will include six Category 3 mountain climbs.
The second stage will run between Abadiño and Amorebieta-Etxano. This stage will cover 138 kilometres, with a total elevation gain of 2,474 metres and five Category 3 mountain climbs.
The third and final stage will start and finish in Donostia-San Sebastian. The route will follow the same course as the Clásica de San Sebastián, over a distance of 113.1 kilometres, with an elevation gain of 1,729 metres. There will be three climbs on which points can be scored: one Category 1 climb, one Category 2 climb and one Category 3 climb.
This will be 5th Itzulia Women’s race and it will cover 372.4 km and feature 14 points-scoring climbs. The organisers have confirmed that the teams taking part in this year’s race will be announced in the coming days.
