Today, Tuesday 10 May, the Itzulia Women’s jerseys were presented at the Donostia City Hall plenary hall. The cyclists’ jerseys were designed by Gobik. The leader’s yellow jersey is sponsored by Laboral Kutxa, the mountain leader’s jersey (white with red dots) by Eusko Label, the jersey for the best classified by points (green) by Gipuzkoa Kirolak and the jersey for the best classified young rider (blue) by Euskadi Basque Country.

Julián Eraso commented, “It is now a reality, the Itzulia Women is a very ambitious project that would not have been possible without the support of institutions such as the San Sebastián City Council and the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council. They believed in the women’s Clásica San Sebastián and they have done it again with the Itzulia. A bigger commitment”. He added, “We hope there will be the same cycling atmosphere as in the Clásica. We hope that the climb to Murgil or the boulevard will be replete with the best fans”.

The first edition of the Itzulia Women starts next Friday 13 May with the first stage in Vitoria, day two is set to take place in Mallabia, and the third and last stage will be held in the capital of Gipuzkoa, following the same route as the Clásica de San Sebastián. The riders’ legs will accumulate 364 km of racing over the three days of the race.

21 teams are taking part in the race, with each team starting with 6 riders, so we can enjoy a peloton of 126 cyclists in total.
